Description: Wake Up! is the first professional film about Korean Zen Master Seung Sahn, who began teaching in the West in 1972. The film candidly shows the Zen Master on a teaching trip in Europe with three of his American monks, waking students up to their true nature, meeting all kinds of people, sightseeing, and ocasionally reminiscing about his life.

The film combines excerpts from the Zen Master's public talks, on-the-spot footage with the American monks, and scenic footage from each of the cities visited. Berlin, Oslo, Paris, Palma de Mallorca, Barcelona and Frankfurt form colorful backdrops for behind-the-scenes moments where we see how Zen Master Seung Sahn's everyday life and irrepressible personality reflected i the wisdom of his teaching.

The film was shot, directd, and edited by Brad Anderson, an award-winning independent filmmaker from Boston. Anderson's camera work conveys not only the beauty and simplicity of Zen, but also the humor and good-natured irreverance that make Zen Master Seung Sahn's teaching unique.
