Maezumi Roshi speaks of the flow of life from the very beginning of existence of the world, nirvana, the four noble truths, and the eight right actions. He explains the concepts of no fixed entity, the vows, the three poisons, the Dharma Wheel, transmigration, and the power of Zen. At the end of the interview, the tape runs out as he speaks about his own death––a moving moment in the light of his subsequent early passing a year later. Hakuya Taizan Maezumi Died in Tokyo on May 15, 1995.
This interview was the only television interview ever granted by Maezumi Roshi and covers existential questions of life and death. Originally part of the German TV project on the soul, it has been converted to NTSC. The picture quality has suffered slightly, but the exceptional value of this DVD lies in its historical meaning.
