Description: In the first section Irina Tweedie describes the Beliefs and Ethics of the Naqshbandi Path, beginning with “We believe in the Oneness of Being.” The second part comprises a selection of films of Sufi meetings at her London home in May 1991. We are given a unique glimpse into her presence, her way of weaving teachings and stories, bringing alive her saying, “Sufis teach simple things.”

Irina Tweedie was born in Russia in 1907, and educated in Vienna and Paris. Following World War II, she married an English naval officer, whose death in 1954 later on a spiritual quest. With a background in Theosophy, she traveled to India where she met a Sufi Master. He told her to keep a diary of her experiences with him, which became the book, Daughter of Fire. After his death in 1966, she returned to England and brought his teachings to the West. She lectured throughout Europe and the United States. Irina Tweedie died in London, August 1999. Her work is being continued through The Golden Sufi Center.
