Description: H.H. the Dalai LamaDescribes how anger and negative emotions are our greatest friends as they allow us to practice patience and tolerance. He reminds us that they are also our enemies, and that our enemies are our greatest teachers. However, we must still plan to eliminate anger and negative emotions by applying the appropriate anecdotes, such as cultivating patience to overcome anger. Buddha has realized liberation and is a worthy refuge - not because he was a special person, but because he realized through cessation. The true state of cessation is a state of mind that is purified of all afflicted emotions. A flick of emotions create unhappiness and disturbance both for ourselves, and if they are expressed, for others too. His Holiness stresses the importance of affection and kindness as ways of overcoming afflicted emotions. Mixed Tibetan and English.
