This book would be good in incorporate a science lesson on how fog starts and where it usually is.

" Hide and Seek Fog" by Alvin Tresselt and Roger Duvoisin, is a book about the adventures of natural events. A bad fog rolls in and people in the village must leave for a few days. But the children see the fog from a different perspective.

This is a beautifully illustrated book. This book is all

about the pictures, which makes it fun. The book also introduces children to the natural occurence of fog with a fun, imaganitive twist.

There are many words that might be unfamiliar to the targeted audience. Parents and Teachers can take advantage of this by asking the child what the word is and its meaning. This is a good way to exercise vocabulary. Also, great for younger grades when explaining weather patterns.

This isn't one of those books with a clear story and a plot and all that. Instead, it's one that just describes something - in this case, a three-day fog and the effect it has on everybody.

It's not a very exciting book, but it has its own quiet poetry to it, and the illustrations are to die for.

The book talks about how fog comes in on an east coast town & lasts for 3 days. The children enjoy it in different ways.

I guess it's well-written, and the illustrations of the fog are effective. ?But the contrasting pix, of the cozy living room, or the sunny beach after the fog, are not bright enough, imo. ?áAnd not enough time is spent with the children playing Hide and Seek, as the title promises. ?áI found

this a very glum book, and I have no idea what's award-worthy about it. ?á(Caldecott Honor)

?áTime of Wonder and?áOne Morning In Maine?á?ácovered the educational aspect (of appreciating the New England seashore) better, in my opinion.
