Historical fiction that reads as if fresh. Beautiful illustrations that bring to life the actual tools, clothing, etc. of the time. Some might say everyone's a little too good, too loving - but I know from my fortunate youth that it is possible to have a family & community that are not
I feel so lucky I found this treasure (and several others) at a discard sale at the library in Junction City, KS. A treat for fans of Laura Ingalls Wilder and the American Girl series, and for those interested in the Tomten.
