Lizzy had a apple tree in her back yard where she picked apples from. Lizzy loved apples, she liked the way they looked, tasted and sound when she eats them. She is starting school and decides to pick her favorite apple and make a doll out of it and names it Susanna. Lizzy brings her doll to school

and her teacher tells her she couldn't bring her anymore. This give Lizzy no choice but to put her shyness aside and meet new friends.

Apple Doll by Elisa Kleven is a wonderful picture book with an apple theme. It's the story of little Lizzy and her apple tree. On the first day of school, Lizzy is scared so she picks her favorite apple from her tree and gives it a face. It becomes her best friend--Susanna. Unfortunately the kids

at school tease her doll, but after some thought Lizzy and her family are able to make Susanna last forever. They dry the apple and make her into a real everlasting doll that looks like a granny. Lizzy shares her amazing doll with the class again, and soon they all make their own apple dolls.

This is the best apple themed picture book with a story that I can currently find. At the back of the book are instructions on how to really make an apple doll.

The apple doll is a story that is about a child who lives on with her family on an apple orchard. The child decided to make a doll out of an apple but when the apple starts rotting, the mother decides to soak the apple in lemon so that it can dry out. This begins a trend with at the school and all

the kids want to make their own unique apple doll. This book would be great for teachers because in the back of the book, the author provides detail instructions on how to make your own apple doll.

Lizzy loves her apple tree, and makes a doll out of an apple to help with her anxiety for the first day of school. She is nervous, and does not make friends easy, but the apple doll helps her through her first day. Her mother helps preserve the doll, and all the classmates like the dried, apple

doll. Soon, Lizzy gains friends and school is much enjoyable for her. I would definitely read this book if I was teaching kindergarten or first grade. Many children go through school anxiety, and not all of them make friends easily. This book can reach out to those feelings. At the end, there is an activity to make your own apple doll. I would love to do this if I taught at an all girls school!
