I think this a great book to help teach children about accepting people for who they are. It is also great way to teach children the importance of working with others despite your differences.

An old man didn't want a perfect house like his neighbors who didn't like him he moved away then decided he missed his home and his mean neighbors. Yes i would read this to my student because it shows that you should respect your elders. Grades K-3

Old Henry moves into a beat-up house with an over grown garden and yard, and the neighbors hope that he will fix up the house, but instead, Henry is content with the life is living which aggravated the neighbors. They bother him about it until he moves away, but that makes no one happy and Henry
Show More
asks if he can come back. I think that this book shows students that it is okay to be different from others and still get along. I would use this with older students because they would grasp the meaning better and get a little more out of it.

"Old Henry" is about a man who is content with his lifestyle and doesn't care too much about making his house look aesthetically pleasing to others. His neighbors badger him about cleaning up his yard and fixing his house but he doesn't care, he just wants to enjoy life as he sees fit. Eventually
Show More
they run him out of town and both sides realize that they made a mistake. Henry wants to come back so he says he'll shovel his sidewalks and fix the crooked fence.

I would use this book in my classroom because it shares a sense of unity in a community. It also relays a sense of diversity and how everyone sees the world in different ways.

Recommended age group: 4 - 8 years

Old Henry moved into an old house that was old, cracked, and dirty. His neighbors were mean to first to him because he never cleaned the place up on the outside. But then they were nice to him because the major said they had to. He did not like this so much so he moved away. Once he was away for
Show More
awhile he wanted to come back so he wrote the major asking if he could. I like this book because this could somewhat happen in real life and it teaches children to be nice to others. This is a good book for children in first - fourth grade.

This is a good book for younger elementary. The pictures in this book are really funny and add to the story where words don't. Also has a good lesson.

Old Henry tells the tale of Henry who moves into an old house in a nice neighborhood and does the unexpected. This book had terrific illustrations and a great concept of not taking things for granted. This book would be suitable for the ages of 1-4.

Old Henry tells the tale of an old man who moves into a worn down house and bothers all his neighbors because he doesn't fix the house up. Eventually Henry moves away because he is tired of being approached by accusatory neighbors but everyone realizes that Henry really does belong in the house,
Show More
even if he and his neighbors look at the world differently. I love this story for the tale it tells about everyone being unique and would like to use it in my teaching for its message. I think this book is appropriate for Grades 1-4 and could be used in a classroom to explain the importance of respecting differences and realizing everyone is valuable, even if they aren't the same.

Old Henry is about a man who never accepts help from his town and neighbors and wants to remain independent. All of his neighbors are the same in many ways.

I liked this book but of the end and what he discovered about having people offer him help in his life. I would use this book to teach to show
Show More
that it's okay to accept help from others.

This book would be appropriate for 1st-4th grade and the theme is that not everyone has to be the same.

This book is about this guy named Henry, he has a different living style in the village. A lot of people do not like him, so he eventually moved away from the town. Yet, in the end Henry wrote a letter back to town, and in this point it is left up to the readers interpretation.
This book is a great
Show More
book to educate children that everyone is different, and never judge a book without opening it.
This is a good read for 3rd- 4th grade.
