Description

Wall Street Women tells the story of the first generation of women to establish themselves as professionals on Wall Street. Since these women, who began their careers in the 1960s, faced blatant discrimination and barriers to advancement, they created formal and informal associations to bolster one another's careers. Covers emergence of women on Wall Street in the 60s and 70s and revisits in the 2000s including a post meltdown update.. Interesting when she simply shares the stories of the pioneering women including extended quotes from the women themselves, whose identities in most cases were not revealed.

Would have preferred less about the related parallel political story and a less academic writing style...diminished an otherwise compelling, important and largely untold history. Book was also weak on understanding of finance and economics and while they weren't the point of the book, it could have been better in these areas.
