This book was the same thing as if you give a mouse a cookie but it was if you take a mouse to the movies. And one thing just led to another

This book was pretty much the same as "If you give a mouse a cookie". This takes place around winter time and the mouse and the boy go to the movies, then he'll want popcorn and so on. This would be good to read with the other book, and there are also many more "If you take a...." books. This can

be used to ask the students about foreshadowing and help them use their imaginaiton.

This book is fun for those children who are more advanced readers and learning how to comprehend things more complex.

This book takes place around winter time and the mouse and the boy go to the movies, then he'll want popcorn and so on... This could be used for entertainment purposes.

This is a good example of fantasy because one of the main characters is a mouse. Also, the mouse goes to the movies and is friends with a human, which would most likely not occur in reality.

This book is about a mouse who wants a lot of stuff. It talks about taking a mouse to the movies and then he will want some popcorn. The book is set around christmas because the mouse wants to make popcorn strings to put around the christmas tree. This is a good holiday book for young children in

kindergarten or first grade.

Fun book to share with the class and ask them to make predictions. Can help develop context clue skills. Cute story.

This was a very cute book! It is about a mouse who asked to be taken to the movies but during this process he thinks of other things he needs to do, or get, before going. It keeps students interested in what is going to happen next.

I read this book aloud, and my students loved it! They enjoyed

watching the mouse bounce around from activity to activity. I would ask them to guess what would happen next before turning the page and they liked coming up with creative ideas and seeing if it happened that way. I also read the other book, "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" before reading this book, so they were aware that the mouse like to think of many things to do.

This imaginative picture book follows all the unlikely adventures that could happen if you bring a mouse to the movies ... right around Christmas time. The whimsical illustrations accompany the story perfectly. This is the kind of book to easily delight young children, girls or boys, and was such a

hit the last time I was babysitting that I had to read it aloud at least half a dozen times! While this could be an anytime read, the many references to snow and Christmas make it perfect for the next few months.

Mouse gets popcorn at the movies and then does all this crazy stuff and in the end he wants to get popcorn at the movies.

Cute story about a mouse at the movies and the popcorn he eats. He wants to string it together and then go on to more and more adventures.

This fictional book is about a funny chain of events that leads one mouse right back where he started. The mouse and his friend start of their day and strangely end up in the very same place at the end of the day.

SEE 'If you give a mouse a cookie.'

A mouse wants to go to the movies and wants to eat popcorn but then the popcorn leads the mouse to think of another thing that he wants or misses. The little boy learns how hard it is to take care of a pet and how hard it is to make sure that they are comfortable in their situations.

A predictable children's book, very funny. repetetive, keeps kids guessing.

This is a great book to read to children around Christmas time. It would be best if children were already familiar with "If You Give A Mouse A Cookie." Children can relate to the situations the mouse finds himself in. It is also a good example of a story that comes full circle.

I liked this book because I loved these books when I was a child but I have never read this specific story before. I like the writing in this book because it flows every well. The reader can expect what is coming next in the book. For example at the end of the book when it says, "and chances are

when you give him the popcorn." The reader can expect that the next line will say that he will want you to take him to the movies because it said this in the beginning of the story. I also liked the illustrations because the style fits the written text. For example, the story is silly and cute and the illustrations match that. The book is about the mouse who keeps wanting things when you give him something else. It is unrealistic and cute and the illustrations show a mouse singing into a microphone and snuggling in a blanket, which are unrealistic things also. The main idea in this book is every action has a consequence!

If you take a mouse to the movies, he'll ask you for some popcorn. If you give him the popcorn, he'll want to string it all together. Then he'll want to hang it on a Christmas tree. It goes on until he notices he forgot to hang the popcorn string on his tree so he wants to make another one. He'll

ask you for some popcorn and chances are, when you give him the popcorn, he'll want you to take him to the movies. I would use this book in my classroom as it would be a fun and easy story for my students to re tell. This book is appropriate for ages 4-8, but is enjoyable for all.

decorations. After that the mouse wants to hang the popcorn on the Christmas tree and then do so many other things that the boy seems to get frustrated with all the mouse demands. This book is a holiday book and takes on the Christmas theme and all the things that a person may do to get ready and enjoy the holiday season.

Personal Reaction:

I personally loved this book. I thought that the idea of using a mouse and the snowball effect of everything that could lead to another thing in the Christmas season. The illustrations in the book are very colorful and easily interpreted for a non reader. I love the series that this book comes from and always love reading them aloud to kids. It is very neat the way the character of the mouse becomes so important in each story.

Classroom Extension:

1. I would use this story around the holiday season to get a classroom discussion going about all the things that could be done around the holidays. It is a great way to introduce to young children everything that goes into making Christmas fun for them.
2. I would also use this lesson as a sequencing lesson and have the students retell the order in which the story goes. This is a great lesson in story comprehension and I would allow students to put into order the different items in the story as they happen. A felt board could also be helpful as a visual as a teacher reads the story aloud to students.

If you take a mouse to the movies he will ask you for popcorn, then you will have to string it up for him. But this will make him want a tree for Christmas and the list goes on. This little mouse is very energetic and will want to do so many activities leading him back to going to the movies. This

I’ve never been a huge “Give a” fan. Some of the books are nice, but mostly not for me. I don’t care for the roundabout story. This edition is the special holiday edition that has craft ideas, recipes, and letters to Santa at the back. While I may not like this, I Know lots of kids who will.

#1481 in our old book database. Rated: Indifferent, for me; Good, for my daughter.

Laura Numeroff and Felicia Bond's Mouse books pretty much follow the same structure every time, so they aren't good to read all together at once, but if you spread them out and only pick up one at a time every so

often, you and your child will be pleasantly amused as the diligent little boy caters to his ADHD mouse's every whim.
