Healthy concepts such as feeding the hungry and accepting diversity are accompanied by beautiful, colorful illustrations make this my current favorite book to read to children.

The Peace Book would be classified under the Historical Ficion list because the actions it uses to describe peace are true and definable. The book isn't based off a specific person and there lifestyle but is based off the the word peace and gives different realiThe definitions for that word. This

book also does a great job of creating easy concept of peace for grade school children could understand. Then they gave the words meaning by showing what you can do to create peace within your community and world.
The style of the book was fast past, very creative and involves children of every color. It catches the readers attention and also uses a rich vocabulary. There is no special creative touch that makes this book stand out from all the rest.

Kids love Todd Parr. He usually has a little letter to kids at the end of his books and ends them with "love, Todd".

The illustrations are very bright and cartoons. This is about peace in some of its many forms. Peace can be as simple as sharing a meal or thinking about someone you love. Or it can be a service like helping a neighbor or cleaning your community.

Reaction: Each illustration of Parr’s picture book is simple and colourful, which is appealing for young and adult readers alike. I personally was drawn to the “blissful” cover, drenched in bright colours, just oozing of happiness and promise. The broad definition of peace including ideas

such sharing with one another, making friends, feeling good about oneself and embracing diversity makes the term “peace” more concrete and easy to understand. With this definition, readers realize that peace starts with oneself and that everyone has the ability to make a difference and impact peace even at a small scale.

This book is about things that give you peace. I would use this in a classroom because it is a great learning book for children, it teaches them about peace. I would use this for ages 2,3,4,5, and 6.

Great story to show we look different and teach peace. Grade appropriate preschoolers and up.

I love Todd Parr's book about peace. Peace is a difficult thing to define to children and he simplifies it so that kids can relate and begin to understand what peace means. It's a fun way to learn and has adorable illustrations and great definitions of a complex topic.

Such a wonderful and accessible way to introduce the concept of peace at an early age. I especially like that peace is "having enough pizza in the world for everyone". It is so much more concrete than "enough food for everyone." and young children are very concrete thinkers.
