This recounting of an adventurous day at the beach is my favorite of the Little Critter books (and it seems like we must own almost all of them). It captures quite magically that charming combination of confidence and insecurity, helpfulness and neediness which I see in my own kids.

We have a lot of Little Critter books.
They're short, they're funny, they're topical, and they're cheap.
As usual, Little Critter's view of events and the actual illustrations don't quite mesh together nicely. This is a source of endless amusement for young children.

I have always liked these type of books as a kid and really enjoyed this one because its about a little boy and his grandma having a fun day at the beach. It is a very sweet book kind of lengthy but a good one to read to the class.

I love anything written by Mayer. This book is about a little boy who loves his grandmother and spending time with her. They do several things together. They go to the beach, to the store, and out to eat. He is trying to impress her with all of the things he can do. This book would be a great read
