Critiques:
Genre: This is an example of realistic fiction because the characters are easy to relate to and they are believable. Also, the plot line consists of events that could actually happen and the author writes in such a way that makes the reader be able to identify with the main character.
Point of View: This story is written from the perspective of a little girl and the entirety of the story is seen through her eyes and how she views the people and activities at the party. If it was written from the view of someone else, such as one of her parents, or even her sister, things would have been described in a very different way.
