Distant thunder : a novel of contemporary Japan

Set in rural Japan in the early 1980s, this novel tells of a farming village gradually effaced by urbanisation, corruption and greed. It shows a different view of life during Japan's prosperous bubble economy, as well as the development of a new environmental consciousness in the nation.
