Dreadful. The characters in Bolaño's novels write better poetry than this! The title of the volume is pretty apt. Rambling free verse descriptions of cheap hotel rooms and tawdry people, fraught with juvenile self-mythologizing in a "lying in the gutter looking up at the stars" style and sprinkled
