The St Charles County (Missouri) library chose this as one of their books for a travel feature. I enjoyed it so much that I bought it from Amazon.com, and went on to read and purchase several other Peter Jenkins books. I suggest you start with his first book "A Walk Across America."

A travel memoir of a boat trip along the Gulf of Mexico shoreline. Sometimes the author spent more time on his own mental state than I cared about, but the scenery and character sketches of those he met along the way were great.
