Description

What is Summer Fit? The Summer Fit workbook series offers parents and children a balanced, fun and interactive summer learning experience. Summer Fit helps prepare Preschool through Eighth grade students (9 books available) for the grade ahead. This Whole Child summer learning series supports Common Core Standards and is endorsed by teachers, parents and physical educators from around the country. Summer Fit inspires children to go after his or her best and not be afraid of failure along the way. This series goes a long way in creating not just better students, but better young people who in turn will help build a better society for us all. What's Inside Summer Fit? Summer Fit uses a Whole Child approach to summer learning in order to provide a complete summer learning experience. This helps children prepare for the new school year academically, physically and socially. Summer Fit contains over 200 basic skill activities in reading, writing, math, language arts, science and geography. Daily fitness activities and healthy lifestyle tips help build healthy habits and active lifestyles. Weekly Core Values activities featuring such values as respect, honesty and responsibility reinforce important social skills and get parents talking with their children about what these values mean in their family. How does Summer Fit work? Summer Fit exercises and activities are divided into ten weekly sections. This provides parents with an easy-to-use summer structure that aligns with the traditional summer break while not overly challenging children during the summer. There are 10 pages of activities for each week. The child completes 2 pages a day that should take 20-30 minutes. Each day offers a simple routine to reinforce basic skills and includes a physical fitness exercise and healthy habit. Each week also reviews a core value to help build character and social skills. Activities start off easy and progressively get more difficult so by the end of the workbook children are mentally, physically and socially prepared for the grade ahead. Summer Fit is designed for completion in order to send children back to school with high self-esteem and motivation.… (more)
