With this read, I complete the Homewaters Trilogy (A River Story, Blind Virgil, Dancing on Water), a journey that I am sad to end. All the characters that Anna Linzer has brought us enrich our sense of truth, beauty, and life-well-lived. Dancing on Water is a powerful love story, one that wraps us in the land and water and sky of the Pacific Northwest (and, more specifically, the Puget Sound and San Juan Islands). There are beautiful chapters mixed in with the first person narrative that begin with gentle invitation, as "Here. Watch for a moment. Come sit on the porch..." and continue to paint the backdrop to the narrative with deep poetic detail. Take your time with this work. Savor each word. (Brian)
