This Library of America edition is not a complete collection of Williams' plays through 1955, but it does include all of the major plays and a good sampling of the earlier work (prior, that is, to The Glass Menagerie). Many of the one-act plays are missing, however.

A good solid collection of the

Covering the period between 1937 to 1955, plays written by Tennessee Williams in the early period of his career. The early plays showed a growth for Mr. Williams in a hit & miss period until "The Glass Menagerie" which struck a nerve with audiences & put his name in the public eye. "A Streetcar

Named Desire" & "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" later were made into films making T Williams famous. The text includes chronology, notes on texts & index.
