Description

Fiction. Science Fiction. Thriller. HTML:Crystal had destroyed Killashandra’s memory, and only crystal could restore it—if she dared! When Killashandra Ree joined the mysterious Heptite Guild, she knew that she would be forever changed. Crystal singing brought ecstasy and pain, near-eternal life . . . and gradual loss of memory. What she hadn’t counted on was the loneliness she felt when her heart still remembered what her mind had forgotten. Fortunately, someone still cared enough to try to salvage what was left of Killashandra’s mind. But she would have to learn to open herself—to another person, and to all her unpleasant memories. “A treat for long-time McCaffrey fans, a good read and a satisfying look at one of the most haunting facets of the crystal singers’ profession.”—Locus.… (more)

Amnesiac crystal miner yells at boyfriend, feels bad about it until she forgets everything, repeat.

This is listed as the conclusion of the crystal singer trilogy. I didn't find the ending that satisfying. It felt like it held no conclusion to the series. Somehow, it felt left open so if the author wanted to go back to make it a longer series, she could.

Now I know she has written Brain/Brawn

novels within the same universe, but these are not technically continuing on the path of the crystal singers. I would hope that the author does as another did, and tie up the last of the loose ends that dangle so nicely at the end of the book with no conclusion.

Brain candy. I'm not a huge fan of Anne McCaffrey's style but somehow this bothers me less than the Pern books.

Not as good as the first two installments in the trilogy--Crystal Singer and Killashandra.

Though I enjoyed this, the final, episode of the Crystal Singer trilogy, it wasn't my favourite, I found it a bit dull in a few places, Though as usual all came good in the end!!!

A favorite sci-fi series. Recommended if you like strong heroines.

One of McCaffrey's best outside of the Pern series. MUCH better than Acorna.

Killashandra's no longer young, and the amnesia that preys on Crystal Singers has definitely set in. The conclusion of the Crystal series is probably my least favorite - mostly because McCaffrey does such a good job of portraying crystal singing's long-term effects - Killashandra is whiney, selfish

and cold. Unfortunately for most of the book.

What is fun, and which I'd forgotten, is the intersection of the Crystal series with the Brainships.

Oddly for a fantasy fan, I had never read a solo Anne McCaffrey book. I happened upon this one on CD and mostly listened to it while walking to and from work. However, part of the way through the second CD I got back to my apartment and was so interested in what would happen next that I couldn't

turn it off. The woman reading it did an excellent job and the story was intriguing (part fantasy, slight romance). Now that I know this is book 3, it makes sense that I was slightly confused in places; the passage of time was a bit confusing, and I was a little lost when what seemed to be well-known concepts were discussed, but was able to keep up fairly well. I'll be looking for the first two in the series.

Eh, this one didn't really hold together for me. Mostly it's just a lot of Killashandra being awful to everyone.

Although I gave it 5 stars , this is the weakest of the Killashandra books in my humble opinion. My biggest complaint about the storyline is that the end ties things up too well. Without giving away things with a spoiler, it seems like ,Mccaffrey sets things up for another book that was never

written. Her editor must have had a publishing deadline. But be that as it may, Killashandra won't disappoint you. She is still her feisty self.
