Description

Fiction. Literature. Romance. HTML: "Your son." Two words had never held such power over CEO Tyler Winchester. He wouldn't have believed them, but the child in the photo he stared at resembled someone he'd never forget: Miranda Caldwell, the woman who had stolen his heart eight years before. The two of them had fallen crazy in love, but their runaway marriage had unraveled as quickly as it had started. Seeing Miranda again after all that time brought back feelings Tyler had long since abandoned-feelings of love, and forever. But family, serenity and the faith she embraced weren't high on his life's to-do list. And Tyler had thought nothing could change that...until Miranda looked into his eyes once again, and little Sammy called him "Daddy.".… (more)

Marta Perry has good characterization skills and makes you like her characters, but when you look at the facts, the plot is still that a couple got divorced and the girl didn't tell the guy she was pregnant or that he had a son.

We're never told how Henry Carmichel finds out or suspects and sends

someone to find out. We do know that he wanted to find a way to distract Tyler and he probably knew that Tyler had once been married to Miranda--perhaps it stemmed from that and finding out about Sammy (who's now 8) was just a bonus.

Miranda and her family seem to have raised Sammy well. I like the idea of traditions--even though we should also be open to modifying those traditions too. I'm glad Tyler saw his way past his usual unforgiveness to see that his brother too could learn from past mistakes and grow. The story of the dolphin is interesting, but I almost wonder if the dolphin has become a sort of idol.
