Description

Product Description: Setting out on the "vacation of a lifetime" Marissa Chabot is well-provisioned with sunblock, rum and a stack of good books. Being one of the founders of Finders Keepers, the successful, high-tech "soul-mate matching service," she knows that vacation romances are hopeless. When Linda Bartok-tall, dark and beautiful-sweeps her off her feet anyway, Marissa yields to the magic of a storybook rescue, moonlit walks on the beach and longed-for whispers of passion. Though it hardly seems possible that the Amazonian, adventurous Linda could be truly interested in a desk-bound computer geek, the most erotic encounters of Marissa's life complete her surrender. Vacations end. Real life resumes. Waiting for the phone to ring, Marissa wonders if what she had seen in Linda's eyes could have possibly been true. Had it been a vacation romance? Was she going to end up "losers weepers"? Finders Keepers, the quest for the perfect mate in the 21st Century, joins Karin Kallmaker's Just Like That and her other incomparable novels about lesbian love, lust and laughter.… (more)

Right, so, can a lesbian romance fiction book be both a good piece of fiction as well as a losing weight guide?

Okay, yes, I'm exaggerating just a bit, but I was surprised just how much weight, and the physical look of everyone played into the plot of the story.

Basically at first glance, two very

different women meet in paradise. The novel is the story of what happens to them when they're together and when they're alone.

I especially liked the fact that in this romance the characters have real growth (on the inside and the outside). That doesn't always happen in Lesbian romance fiction (or for that matter in some heterosexual romances too).

This was a total novel, there was a little bit of a mysterious part to it, romance, strife, there seems to be a boatload of rain, and there's even a natural disaster. (What is it with good lesbian romance fiction and natural disasters, this one as well as KG MacGregor's Shaken series).

A solid four stars and I'm intrigued enough to look up and see if I can take out a couple of her other books too.
