Story about 2 teachers who had been at the same high school together many years before. One is the coach of the baseball team (Jake) and science teacher (Brandon) gets roped into helping with the team. It had a slow start - there wasn't even a kiss until well over the halfway mark of this 195 page

book. So, on the one hand, it was slow but on the other, there was actually a good believability factor to the build up of the relationship - I'm so contrary!! There were a few plot points that didn't go anywhere - I'm not sure what the point of Misty chasing Jake about was as it just fizzled out and there wasn't an explanation of the email job offer at the end - what was going to happen about it? I would have liked more information about how they would handle the long term - the story hinted at potential problems if their relationship became public knowledge - but I liked the characters and their connection to believe in the HEA regardless. Also, the sex, once it appeared in the story, was hot hot hot.

This is a really sweet love story about two guys who never got to know each other when they were younger even though they graduated together. As they moved into their adult roles they still seemed to be in separate circles. When Brandon is giving no choice in helping out Jake with the baseball team

they connect for the first time and get to know one another and develop a friendship. It was fun knowing how they each felt about each other bouncing around what they were feeling. The only negative was the way that homeschooling was portrayed as leading to Brandon's shyness and feelings for being an outsider. Having raised several homeschool boys so far I can tell you that it's their personalities that lead them to be outgoing or shy not how they were schooled.

4.5 stars!

Loved it! It's such a sweet story! I engaged with the characters right away, the slow burn as they became friends then lovers was long enough to be satisfying but short enough that I wasn't frustrated with them by the time they finally got it together. The sex was smoking! I liked the

secondary characters as well. It was a very believable love story.

The only very small issue I had in the beginning was with the POV changes but that was more about me not being accustomed to reading this style. (I'm not good with technical writing terms. I think it's third person omniscient, but I could be mistaken.) I did get used to it after a chapter so it really wasn't an issue after that.

This is this first book I've read by Madeleine Urban and I really like her writing. I have no idea how I never came across any of her other books but I will defintly be checking them out.

This was a great HEA story and I quite enjoyed the jock/nerd plot. I really liked how she showed in her writing

both sides of being an athletic and academic and how they were really not that different.

Great writing.
