This book discusses a taboo subject that happens to be very entertaining to young children "farts". My son laughed simply at the title. However he was very interested in what actually causes gas and loved the pictures. This is a great book to have on hand for a system discussion such as a lesson on

Summary: This book explains why we pass gas. The book tells us when we eat and drink we swallow air this produces the gas that escapes our bodies. It explains the way the things we eat affects the smell. The book also talks a little about animals and their gas.

Personal reaction: This is a silly

book but I knew it would be one that boys and some girls would enjoy and really pay attention. Even though the book is kind of silly it is also informative.

Classroom Extensions:
1.Discuss the possible foods that affect the smell of gas.
2.Discuss ways we could try to pass gas discreetly, not make a big deal about it and interrupt classes.

This book was hilarious and I really enjoyed how the author made the book very funny and relatable to children and adults, because we all pass gas. I liked the illustrations in this book alot because they enhanced the text and related to it. It is obviously hard to illustrate gas or farts, but the

author used speech bubbles that said, "brroom burp" as the sound of a fart. The illustrations also show diagrams of the path of air and food which shows the process of passing gas. The diagrams help enhance the text. I also liked the language because it was very humorous. The word "farts" was used throughout the book to make children and even adults laugh. The big idea in this book was that passing gas happens to all of us and we all can relate.

I thought this book was hysterical and informative! I loved the use of onomatopoeia while making the "fart sounds." My favorite part about this book was that I actually learned a lot! i wasn't sure why passing gas happened but now I do and I learned about it in a fun way! I think that kids would

get a kick out of this book just like I did. It is essential for children and adults to realize that passing gas is a necessary bodily function and there is nothing to be ashamed of. Everyone passes gas and we all do it for the same reasons.

I really enjoyed the story “The Gas We Pass” for two reasons. First, the illustrations were very humorous. For example, the front cover shows the behind of an elephant and each page to follow shows the behind of some organism that passes gas as well. Secondly, there was also very informative

facts portrayed in this book so I learned a lot of new information. For example, each human fart is about ½ a cup of gas and if you hold gas in, it is bad for your body. Furthermore, meat, fish, and eggs make your gas smell bad. The main idea of this story was to inform children about passing gas.

I found this book to be very interesting and informative. First, I liked how the book explained the entire process of how and why the body releases gases in different forms. I liked that the book focused on the entire process of how the body works in this way. Second, I liked how the book included

fun facts that were likely to be new to majority of readers. For example, I learned that each human fart is about 3.5ounces in weight. I think these fun facts kept the full length of this book interesting to the reader. The main message of this story is that bodily functions are a perfectly normal process for the human body.

This is the "story of farts," as it discusses flatulence in various forms from various sources. It is a pretty silly book, and although it is factual, lessons could easily get lost in the potty humor.

A reassuring and humorous addition to the series including Everyone Poops presents curious readers with a straightforward, relatable look at a natural body function, explaining how and why gas is produced and eliminated.

It's ok to fart.
