"It's cold in the woods and it's time for Little Bear to start his winter sleep. But not before he says good night to all of his special forest friends -- badger, deer, rabbit, mouse, fox, owl, squirrel, and wolf. Now Little Bear can happily fall asleep in his warm and cozy den all snuggled up to his mother ... knowing that his friends will watch out for him during his long winter's sleep"--Book jacket.
A good bedtime story and introduction to forest animals and hibernation for younger kids. Nice, bright pictures filled the pages. Little Bear says goodnight to a badgers, mice, deer, fox, rabbit, squirrel, owl and wolf. Some of these animals might also hibernate, and they tell Little Bear, others might look out for him while he sleeps. It's a cute story, but even some of the children knew that a bear would usually eat some of these animals.

This is a cute book about bears going to sleep for the winter with an explanation at the end of the book of “hibernation”. The illustrations are very warm and depicts the mommy and baby bear saying goodbye to their forest friends until the Spring.
