Davy is counting the days until his birthday. As it approaches he is lamenting the fact that everyone is too busy getting ready for his party that he has no one to play with. He wishes for someone with time to play with him, someone to read to him and someone to teach him new games. His parents

listen and on his birthday, Grandma and Grandpa are his present. They bring him a big book full of stories, teach him all the games they played as children and spend a lot of time with him. He also receives some other gifts but Grandma and Grandpa are the best ones. He has a wonderful day. What a great story teaching children about enjoying time with your family, the best gifts do not cost a lot of money and that love is the best gift of all. The illustrations were adorable and I think young children who do not quite understand the meaning of the story will love the pictures. Older children will get the message. A great book for many ages.
