This book and the other books from the series are books to be bought and read year after year with your children or grandchildren. The book is a collection of stories, poems and songs (sheet music) about winter by famous writers and composers, together with descriptions of winter celebrations;
I'm always surprised how in North America such books are so difficult to find (mostly out of print and forgotten), and in Canada I can only buy the French edition. There is such a big difference between the European and American children's literature traditions, and not much of the best European children's literature is getting translated into English. Such a shame.

Diwali, The Three Kings, Hanukkah, Chinese New Year... There are many great illustrations and several strips of a funny little comic with no words which my daughter loved. I'm always surprised how in North America such books are so difficult to find (mostly out of print and forgotten), and in Canada I can only buy the French edition. There is such a big difference between the European and American children's literature traditions, and not much of the best European children's literature is getting translated into English. Such a shame.
