This book came highly recommended. I was initially skeptical, but gosh if those animal facts just aren't fascinating. I knew people sometimes poured alcohol on scorpions in movies, but didn't know the end result (this book tells you). Wondering how high bison can jump? They can jump pretty high. I

found something new on almost every page. The illustrations initially put me off; they seem kind of "messy" and not well thought out, but... they grow on you. The hippo one, in particular, might be my favorite (look for the other animal cameo on top of his head). Recommended. I can't imagine a kid not liking this book.
