I received this book through Early Reviewers, and was disappointed to only receive a folded and gathered copy, not an actual book. That aside, here is my review. This book gets all of its stars for the pictures, which are interesting, colorful, detailed, and fantastical. It is the story of a group

of bunnies that find a big carrot and think of all the things they could do with it, until finally realizing they could eat it, the end. I felt that the text was disappointing because it was not as creative and interesting as the pictures. For example: "One day, six rabbits found a very big carrot. 'Wow! What a very big carrot!' they said to each other." It lacks the richness needed to stand up to the pictures.

The story is a little thin, but the illustrations are lush, lovely, and full of detail. I especially liked the "biggest house" illustration.

Six rabbits find a VERY big carrot. It is so big that they all can stand on the stem end of it with room to spare. The rabbits proceed to think of ways to use the carrot from airplane to house before coming upon the obvious use of eating it. Young readers may enjoy anticipating the end use and

fantastic ideas leading up to it. The bright illustrations of orange and green are appealing.

What a cute book to use with young children!! I love how the author takes the six rabbits on an adventure as they think of different things to do with the BIG carrot. The illustrations are beautiful! This could definitely be used as a mentor text in the classroom.

Tone's whimsical rabbits in a colorful world are as delightful to look at as to read about their adventures with the giant carrot they found. Lots of imagination went into this story and begs for kids to contribute their ideas for ways to use the carrot. For those working with the Common Core

Standards in education, a good book to compare this fantasy with would be Ruth Krauss's classic CARROT SEED.

Adorable book about a family of rabbits and their giant carrot. I will post a longer review soon.

A very cute story about some bunnies who find an unbelievably large carrot--but what really makes this book a winner are the illustrations. Every page is an atmospheric wonderland of light and gentle brush strokes and colors. My girls (4 and 1) love the story, but mommy loves the illustrations even
