Wow. This gentle time travel fantasy is my favorite graphic novel of 2018 so far.
A thirtysomething woman opens the door to her apartment, comes face to face with her teenage self, and is appalled at what a mess she once was. The teenage girl sees the same door as opening onto a future that is
Maurel weaves a moving tale full of regrets, disappointments and self-discovery as both versions of Luisa struggle with their common dreams, realities and sexuality.
This book has the full package. I loved the writing, the art and the characters.

First-rate art, handling a challenging subject — interaction between two editions of the same self – with ease. I always knew who was talking. Also challenges the coming out narrative by up ending it. Highly recommended.

What would you say to your 15 year old self if you could?

I liked the concept, but it felt SUPER after-school special by the end. And 33-year-old Luisa is such a dick towards 15-year-old Luisa. I would be SO much nicer to my younger self...

After getting off the bus 15 year old Luisa, full of emotions over a huge relationship issue, finds herself lost in the future and in the neighborhood of her 32 year old self. It's emotional and beautifully drawn about knowing and healing your inner child.
