I have occasionally used this book as a resource, but mostly I find Conway's unwillingness to provide clear resources for her research, and her sometimes blatant historical, cultural, or animal behavioural incongruities to be a reflection of information that is - at times - made up conveniently.

This could have been a better book, in my opinion. The reference sections are very well done, but the rest of the book is lacking in insightful content. Still, it wasn't bad, just incomplete as far as I felt.

This book is a fairly good book to get somewhat of a general idea of some ways that animal magick can be practiced, but it should not be the only book either. This book does have some factual errors, particularly in the second half of the book were an index of various animal are given with brief

descriptions on some facts, traits, myths, and such. Other then that the book does given some fairly descent brainstorming material and ideas on different ways to use animals in mediations, rituals, and so on.
