Victor Frankenstein is a scientist, who wants to know how things work including living things. He creates a monster out of dead body parts. Then the creature terrorizes the surrounding towns and Victor Frankenstein. Will he be able to stop the monster before it hurt more people?
This is one of my

favorite classic books. There is action, a monster, and travel in it. It is fast paced and the author keeps you wanting to read more to see what will happen next. It also contains some good life lessons, such as losing a love one and losing a friend. Frankenstein also demonstrates a love of learning because he learns all he can.
I would have the kids make a map of where they think the monster would go next and keep adding to it was we kept reading. I would have them draw a picture of what they think the creature would like look.
