This is a great read-aloud for young children. My kindergartener loves the series and enjoys listening to the books and others in the series. The main character is a princess who turns into a superhero and goes around protecting others from monsters. The plot lines are clever and keep kids and

adults engaged in the story, it is also comical and lighthearted.
The stories also shows a female protagonist in a role where she is a leader and problem-solver.

The serialization is wonderful too since it gives children a way to evolve with the characters. We've read through the series and looking forward to reading more books with the Princess in Black.
