She doesn't remember leaving her fiance Zac Callahan weeks before their wedding or moving to Portland, Maine. And she sure doesn't remember getting engaged to another man. All she remembers is loving Zac more than life itself. It's taken Zac months to move on after Lucy left him with no explanation. He's thrown himself into his family's farm and his restaurant business in Summer Harbor. Now Lucy's back, vulnerable, homeless, and still in love with him. She needs his help putting the pieces together, but letting her back into his life is a risk--and the stakes are high. If he follows his heart he'll win back the love of his life. The Callahan brothers are in a pickle with the ladies. Mainly, it is Zach who is still in love with Lucy though she left seven months earlier. Zac was really
The series begins in the first book, Falling Like Snowflakes. For readers to truly appreciate the ongoing saga of the brothers it does help to read book one before book two. I loved how the author shared with her readers some more of the various characters pasts to help us understand why they are the way they are. Right now Lucy is on her own journey to try and live without remembering seven months of her life, starting over in a small town where everybody knows your business and she has no job or money.
There are a couple funny parts in the story that will cause you to chuckle I hope as it did me. I love how going through healing from past hurts with God in prayer and a community of believers is represented. I think one truth that could have been more prominent is the need to seek counsel from the Word of God, which wasn’t evident in the book. However, the way God pursues us and loves us is a clear theme in the story. Plus, the passion that can be real in a marriage is directly correlated to how open we are with God letting Him touch our hearts, minds and souls even when at times it is painful. Even when it looks like it or feels like it, the truth is that God will never leave us or abandon us, which is a foundational truth portrayed in this series.
I hope you grab these enjoyable novels and allow the truths of God to soak your heart and soul, and enjoy the moments of laughter too!

I've seen shows where the main theme is someone has amnesia and it takes forever for them to get it back. They cry and walk around depressed and I quickly lose interest. With this book, it was refreshing and written with a flow that didn't detour into unimportant details. Lucy wakes up in a bathroom after hitting her head . She is wearing a wedding dress and can't remember a thing. I would hate to have that feeling of confusion . Poor Lucy can't remember the last seven months. She does remember that she was getting married but she has the wrong fiancé in mind. What is a woman to do? Well of course she calls her Zac to rescue her. There is one little catch though; she isn't engaged to the man she calls on the phone anymore.
Zac is floored when he receives a call from Lucy asking to be rescued. He reluctantly goes and picks her up, still remembering how hurt he still feels when she left him seven months ago with no explanation. Lucy , you got some explaining to do. The story is so good with some unexpected twists. Will Lucy ever regain her memory? Who is this other man who claims to be her fiancé? Why is she uncomfortable around him?
The book is well written and will have you glued to the story as it gives you a glimpse into redemption, trust, faith and forgiveness. Who will win Lucy's heart?
I received a copy of this book from The Fiction Guild for an honest review.
I picked this book up with little knowledge of its plot, set on reading it on account of how
Still, the romance began to lose my interest after a while, as the instances and descriptions of Lucy and Zac's attraction became redundant. It seemed that they each stopped to brood over and around the same desires and doubts a number of times throughout the story, and the reading lagged for me in the middle. There also seemed to be a menacing build-up toward something that pretty much fizzled into nothing.
Nevertheless, I'm rather sure this heartfelt return to Summer Harbor has built on a good setup for the next book in the series...

Lucy Lovett can't remember the last 7 months of her life. She doesn't remember leaving her fiancé Zac Callahan just weeks before their wedding. As the back cover says it so well, "She only remembers loving him. But he can't forget the way she left." When Lucy calls Zac and asks him to come rescue her, the story begins where Lucy must remember why she was found in a wedding dress wearing someone else's ring. And Zac must try to help her, even though it might mean her breaking his heart all over again. I loved the tension and the love oozing out of these two for each other. It also had a little bit of mystery to it and it kept my attention all the way through. Looking forward to starting book 3 next, "Just a Kiss"!
Heartbroken Zac Callahan, the younger brother of Falling Like Snowflakes’ Beau, has spent months trying to recover from the unexpected and painful departure of his fiancee Lucy Lovett, but an amnesia-inducing accident threatens to undo all his forward progress. Since Lucy cannot remember making the decision to leave Zac so suddenly, she wants a chance to regain his affections - but he refuses to get hurt again. Their story then unfolds with compelling conflict, chemistry, and character development and captured my attention, imagination, and emotions until the very satisfying end.
Entirely engrossing and delightful, The Goodbye Bride is a top-notch read, and I loved every moment in this second trip to Summer Harbor. With ease and certainty, I recommend it to fans of contemporary romance, while impatiently look forward to reading the third Callahan brother’s story, Just a Kiss.
