Description

When Annie finds a bundle of old letters in the attic of Grey Gables, she feels a rush of nostalgia for the days she spent in Stony Point as a child, and for her best childhood friend Susan Morris. Annie had saved these letters and brought them back to Stony Point to share with Susan, but where is Susan now? Annie's friends in the Hook and Needle Club have conflicting stories, but Susan is definitely not in Stony Point. Annie takes up the search for Susan, and as she digs deeper, she is drawn into a frightening game of hide and seek with strangers who threaten Annie's life and the lives of her friends--From publisher's description.

Easy reading, very enjoyable

I would put this in the cozy mystery category although the end does go a bit past "cozy" in my opinion. I liked that Annie wanted to reconnect with a long lost friend and took steps to try to find her. I liked that Annie's heart seems to go out to "strays" and want to make them feel a part of the

community or like they have a friend. I too have a high school friend that I wish I'd been a better friend to at the time--but I haven't been successful at reconnecting with her or finding her.

SPOILER ALERT: I guessed that Sandy might be Susan long before it was revealed--though I thought she might be in witness protection with Tom being an agent posing as her husband rather than really her husband who knew the whole story and was bent on protecting his wife.
