French play with political background. Very interesting construction - it reads like a fable or an alegory (like 1984 or Brave New World - though with a much more limited scope). Meaningful context and thought-provoking dialogues. A cornerstone of existentialism.

This was an absolutely thrilling play by Sartre. The characters are so vivid and lifelike and the plot, involving the murder of an important party leader, is completely engaging and riveting. This is a fine play, with great philosophical considerations throughout, that touches on the nature of
