This book is best read when also reading "The Purpose Driven Life". This book is good to carry around because it reminds the reader about the scriptures used in "The Purpose Driven Life", and helps the reader to focus more on the Word of God.

I like that the book has some space for the reader to

write down their reflections.

Daily Inspiration for the Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren is the companion book of The Purpose Driven Life. It focuses on biblical quotes that call for 40 days of inspirational study and meditation. The crux of such devotions is centered on The Great Commandment and Commission. Believers should
Show More
learn from the following: 1) Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind; 2) Love your neighbor as yourself; 3) Go and make disciples of all nations; 4) Baptize followers; and 5) Teach them to obey.

In this book of reflections much is expected of believers. Mainly, they have to love God. Everything they do they should realize that it’s only through the mercies of a loving God that they are able to do such things. To think otherwise is to miss the reason of God in their lives. There’s a profound reason to love our neighbors. Our neighbors must be like our best friends. All good things that we wish ourselves we should wish for them. There should be no jealousies or pettiness in this relationship. They should have similar rights like us. Even if they are poor or homeless they shouldn’t be treated differently. It’s God who's watching our actions. He knows our hearts, and what we are thinking, and feeling.

Warren’s meditations clearly show that as Christians we have the responsibility to proclaim the Gospel to others. It doesn’t matter if these people live locally, nationally, or internationally. Christianity has a global outreach, and all Christians have to share this responsibility of making disciples - winning converts of unbelievers. Basically those individuals who have accepted the Word ought to be baptized in the death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This is how they are saved. These converts will share their time, talent, and treasure with their church. These gifts are necessary for growing the body of Christ.

According to the author, Christians will come to realize that obedience is necessary. God loves it when we obey him for that’s the way believers will be faithful servants. Those that are responsible in little are responsible in much. And Christians will be certain of their heavenly rewards. Each individual will take away different perspectives from these reflections. The authenticity of God’s Word has to be followed to achieve spiritual growth. This is the only way to be assured of our destiny when we depart our temporary home earth, for a life in heaven.
