Wishful Thinking: A Seeker's ABC

by Frederick Buechner

Paperback, 1993

In Wishful Thinking, Frederick Buechner puts the language of God, the Universe and the human spirit under his wry linguistic microsope. In his open ironic reflections on such terms as envy, love and sin, he invites us to look at these words in new and enlightening ways.

This book is sort of hard to read in terms of format, but if you are able to get over that then you will find some gems in this beautiful collection. Buechner has a way with words and understanding that go together so well and allow for thought processes to be expanded rather than limited. I look

Some surprising definitions to words that creep up in Christianity all the time. This is the book that sold me on Frederick Buechner as my favourite author.
