Gospel which is not surprising considering Brown is a Johannine scholar. Brown basically looks at each of the gospels and how the individual evangelists use the resurrection accounts to stress the themes of their gospels and how a belief in the actual resurrection of Jesus Christ was essential to each of the early Christian communities that produced these works. Brown presents the scholarly material fort the reader and allows the reader to draw his/her own conclusions about the material he presents
