Phil Earle is really good at setting up his character with an intriguing prologue that raises all sorts of questions in the reader's mind. What does Daisy mean, did she really kill her Mum? How can a person ever get past that?
Daisy herself is an engaging character, and her voice sounds authentic -

quite a feat for a male writer. As we follow Daisy on her journey, we learn much more about her and the circumstances that lead her to her position in the prologue.
This is a thoughtful, satisfying read that is getting a lot of recommendations in my school Library
