Sarie has trouble reading aloud in school and gets made fun of, but when she finds an old book and her aunt reads with her she gets much better. This books shows that you should always practice to get better and not let others who are mean hurt you. It is intended for Elementary grades.

This book teaches children don't give up. Sarie was having difficulty reading and the little girls made fun of her. With her Auntie Anna, she began reading the story of Cinderella every Sunday until she was comfortable to read in class, without messing up. Emile is a little boy who did not laugh at

This is a great companion to the book Thank You Mr. Falker by Patricia Polacco. The writing is very good and the illustrations are very well done. The main character has problems with reading aloud, but she slowly manages to overcome that by reading with Auntie Anna, an elderly neighbor. It's very

nicely done.

Again, my daughter really likes how Daly illustrates in all of his books. I felt like this book had a soul. A sweet story of how one person can make a difference for another.

The story of a little girl who feels shame and embarrassment over her inability to read. She is helped by an elderly neighbor who introduces her to the magic of stories. A sweet story and beautiful pictures of semi-arid Africa.
