In the book Diary of a Wimpy Kid Cabin Fever Greg Heffley and his adventures are back. This time he ends up getting stuck inside with his family when giant blizzard strikes the town where he lives.

He is forced to spend time with his family and he's not enjoying the time. His brother becomes his
Show More
roomate and his dad is away at a 5 star hotel. Greg also in this book fells a new side of a relationship with his family he's never felt before. Like he never realised how much his family meant to him untill now.

Again he doesn't look forward on going back to school, because as always there's bullys. Greg has always had problems with bullies.

It is coming close to Christmas for Greg, and he is going to be having a time of a life in this book. When a blizzard hits Greg's town, his mother, Rodrick, Manny and himself will be forced to have cabin fever in this book. Struggling with the electricity and heater off, their father off at a

hotel, and of course Manny.
This book is hilarious! I recently got it yesterday at my school's book fair, and I have to say, that was a well $8 spent! Its funny and creepy at the same time! So glad that Jeff Kinney is still writing! Hope he writes another Wimpy Kid book!

diary of a wimpy kid a story of a kid who's life sucks cause of his parents but on this one its mother nature. I think the moral of this story is to to keep trying and to never give up one example is when greg has to be trapped in a huge snow storm with his parents and starts going nuts and he
Show More
plans to survive the winter. What i like about this book is the way the author describes meanings wit hthe story is being read. One reason i dont like about it becouse of the way greg gets karma all the time.

This sixth installment of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series, reminds us what it’s like to be a child at Christmas.
I’m a fan of the Wimpy Kid series because it is a throwback to childhood and something that parents and children can enjoy together. Jeff Kinney’s characters are funny and
Show More
memorable. Get the boxset for your child, or just get this one. They will love it!

I really liked this book it was funny like all of the others.I would recommend this book for anyone who likes historical fiction. My favorite part was when he was trying too earn some money soo he went to door to door asking if people wanted him too get the snow off of their driveway for 5 bucks. So
Show More
he came to this one guy who sayed yes and Greg started to get it clear of snow and then it snowed agin so he went up too the guys house and sayed hed do it agin for a nother 5 bucks. And the guy wouldn't buy it soo the guy also sayed that he wasn't paying him untill he cleared the whole driveway. So then greg went over too his grandmaws and got her lawn mower and it froze up soo then he got the water hose and it worked. The guy payed him his 5 bucks.Last he went out too get his mail and he fell because the water froze and he fell and Greg left.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Cabin Fever by Jeff Kinney

Summary:

Greg Heffley is in big trouble. School property has been damaged, and Greg is the prime suspect. But the crazy thing is, he’s innocent. Or at least sort of.

I had just about given up on this series. I loved books one and two. Book three was ok, but books four and five just didn't live up to the first two. It was almost as though Kinney was writing the books only so as not to disappoint his millions of young fans. I had also read somewhere that book five was to be the last in the series, so I was rather surprised when the announcement came about book six. Fortunately for me, I am a school librarian and my students love this series. Therefore I had to read Cabin Fever in order to stay current with my students. I'm glad I did, because this book reignited my love for the series.

What I liked about the book: Greg is less whiny in this book. Oh, sure - he's still the King of Bad Choices, but he actually seems to grow a little, in spite of himself. That was my problem with books four and five - Greg seemed rather stagnant. I like that the book is a quick, easy and entertaining read. Kinney certainly knows his audience and does a great job of meeting their expectations.

What I didn't like about the book: Can't think of anything I didn't like.

As I mentioned my students (3rd - 5th grade) are crazy about this series. Our pre-winter break library lesson involved a book talk about Cabin Fever and then they had an indoor snowball fight. They each wrote an adjective about snow on three slips of paper, balled them up and spent 60 seconds having a snowball fight. At the end of the fight they took three "snowballs" that had landed near them and used the three words to write a poem about snow on their blog. They had a great time. I'm not sure which they enjoyed more - the excerpt I read from the book or the snowball fight.

AR Reading level: 5.8

Recommended for 3rd grade and up.

Mrs. Archer's rating: 5 of 5!

The continuing adventures of Greg Heffley, involving little brother Manny and Christmas.

The book is snout a young boy who gets stuck in the house because of a snow storm and things they do while they are in the house. This will be great a book for children to use for one of their book in their book clubs. There can be many conversations amongst students that share common experiences.

I found it a bit disappointing, having read the previous books. I don't think Cabin Fever is as funny as the others in the series.

Summary: This book is about a kid named Greg Heffley. Greg is stuck at home because of a snow storm. Greg has a problem though; he didn’t return a book to the library since he was nine. He thinks the cops are going to arrest him. He has several adventures trying to earn money.

This book is part of a series; I like a lot of the books in the series. They are great for young adults. I would recommend this book to children who don’t like to read or find reading boring because being that it is a graphic novel it grabs their attention.

Classroom Extension Ideas:
1) Have the class get into groups and talk about what their favorite part of the book was and why.
2) Have the class write a journal entry about an adventuress day they’ve had.

Greg gets snowed in with his family and gets cabin fever. This book was okay, but not as funny as books 1 and 5.

it is about a boy called Greg who gets into a lot of mischief along with his 2 brothers Rodrick and Manny.

I'm a new convert to the world of Wimpy Kid but can see how it reaches so many students. It's been my go-to book for some of the difficult readers and is written in a way that isn't too simplistic, in fact challenging for some kids, yet they keep plowing through it. At first glance, it's just a
Show More
story about a midlde-kid in a family with lots of hi-jinx, but Kinney writes the characters realistically, and I could see some of the adventures occuring for my own students.

I thought this book was a good book because Greg, the main character, is so lazy it's funny. Jeff Kenny, the author, really knows how to write a good book. The one thing I do not like about the book is that it is so short. I like how Greg tried to shovel snow and just used the sprinkler.

We all know how hard it can be to stay with your family for a long time, and Jeff really put that on the dot in this book. in this book, Greg Heffley tries his best to stay with his parents for the summer, but he just couldn't take it. He got frustrated when he learns he was barricaded in his house
Show More
with snow, and theres no way out. So he's forced to stay inside of his house until the summer is over.

It was really funny it's about Greg and winter time coming and they get trapped in the house for a long time and the really funny part was when that little elf followed Greg all around the house when ever he did something bad
LibraryThing member kenneth_12
This book is funny especially when santa's scout showed up and creeped greg out

Someone has damaged school property and Greg is the main suspect. It's now winter break and the Heffleys get stuck indoors because of a terrible blizzard. In this addition to the Wimpy Kid series Greg learns a valuable lesson about respect and honor to change the way he acts toward his family.

funny and good for people who have annoying little and older brothers

Diary of a wimpy kid cabin fever is when Gregg was survivng school and his own home by doing the worst things possible
LibraryThing member librarybrandy
What's to say? He's still Greg Heffley--in other words, still an unlikeable (to me) narrator, but at least he's less of a jerk this time than usual.
LibraryThing member Swelker
This book was about a boy, and what happens the weeks before Christmas. A blizzard hits his town, and he is stuck in his house with his family. This drives the boy crazy. I probably would not have my students read this in class, but I would definitely put this on a summer reading list. I think this
Show More
would be a nice book for a student to read during their summer break.
