This is a cute dinosaur title that is absolutely perfect for toddler and preschool storytimes. It functions wonderfully as a quick story in between two longer stories, and it can be a sound-effects laden, audience participation fest. The illustrations are bright, lively, and large-format. Each
Show More
two-page spread has just a few words on it. The only problem with larger storytimes is that some of the elements aren't too distinct - for instance, it'd be pretty hard for a kid at the back of the room to see "Dinosaur Tiny" in comparison to "Dinosaur Fat." But still it's lovely and superfun, if not a substantial story by any means.

So fun to read with different voices. A strong voice for the dinosaur strong and a little voice for the dinosaur meek. Again, this is a book I have read to toddlers and they love it. They can start to read along with you because of memorizing the pictures and what words go with them. This is a book
Show More
that also teaches opposites.

This book goes over many opposites for young children with bright fun pictures of many different dinosaurs. For example clean and dirty, big and small, also it is full of rhyming words that keep children’s attention.

I like this book for young children ages two to six. Dinosaurs always interest
Show More
young children and they like to help me read the words after so many times. The illustrations are lovely and big enough that the children can stay sitting and still see the pages.

With this book you can set out folder games with matching opposites. You can also have a box of dinosaurs out in the science area for the children to explore. There are many opposites games you can play with the children to help them with the concept.

This book incorporates the instant little boy magnet of dinosaurs. Each of the two page spreads include a word or action on one side while the other page reflects the opposite. Example: dinosaur above....and dinosaur below. The illustrations work nicely in conjunction with the text. The
Show More
illustration that accompanies the stated example is one dinosaur sitting on top of another.

A variety of dinosaurs are discussed using opposite words and descriptive vocabulary. A simple book to teach these concepts to children who love dinosaurs.

"Dinosaur fast, dinosaur slow". Dinosaur Roar is a delightful book using pictures of colorful and comical dinosaurs and rhyming to teach children about opposites. I really had fun reading this book and looking at the illustrations. The illustrations bring the dinosaurs to life and do a good job of
Show More
illustrating emotions. When the text says, "Dinosaur sweet, dinosaur grumpy" the dinosaurs really do appear to be sweet or grumpy. With simple text and an average of two words per page the story is great for a quick read aloud or for independent reading for young children who have not yet developed advanced reading skills. Even children who are not yet literate will enjoy looking at the pictures on their own and contrasting the two different dinosaurs shown.

We love this book. The illustrations are fun and bright, and the story is told in rhyme that is short and thankfully well-written. It's all about dinosaurs, which is an instant draw for kids, and focuses on antonyms by juxtaposing dinosaurs with opposite traits. The quality of the rhythm makes it a
Show More
good choice for read aloud, and the ending is oodles of fun if you pretend to eat your audience just like the dinosaurs are chowing down. We always have a fun tickle fest at the end. I highly recommend this book for entry readers and the whole family.

The first thing I noticed about this book was the very bright and colorful illustrations! Just gorgeous. The story offers excellent contrasting words (ex. spiky and lumpy), though most aren't true opposite pairs. Nonetheless, it gives children great examples of various descriptive words and

onomatopoeia.
