Description

"Lewis's childhood was filled with days spent watching Formula One racing with his dad. His hobby led him to go-kart racing and, at the age of 10, he won the British Kart Championship. Shortly after, he began training as a racing driver with McLaren, rising through the ranks to become the top of his field. This amazing story of the first Black Formula One driver features a fact and photo section at the back."--

Karts, and eventually became the first black and youngest Formula One Grand Prix champion ever. He continues to speak to racial justice and equality in sports and is an advocate for positive mental health as well as environmental issues.
The illustrations by Fernando Martín are fun, simple, colorful, and delightful.
Well suited for reading WITH someone of any age including ESL, and great for gifting to anyone, but especially to a school or public library!
I requested and received a free temporary e-book on Adobe Digital Editions from Quarto Publishing Group/Frances Lincoln Children's Books via NetGalley. Thank you!
