Description

Biography & Autobiography. Performing Arts. Nonfiction. Humor (Nonfiction.) HTML:In this #1 New York Times bestseller, Ellen DeGeneres shares her hilarious take on everything from our most baffling human foiblesincluding how we behave in elevators, airplanes, and restrooms, and why were so scared of the boogeymanto fashion trends, celebrity, and her secret recipe for Ellens Real Frenchy French Toast. Most of all, this witty, engaging book offers insights into the mind of one of Americas most beloved comics. Dear Reader, I was awfully excited when I was asked to write a book. I was however, nervous. I was afraid I didnt have anything important to say. But when I began writing, I realized that although I dont know a lot about any one thing, I know a little about a whole bunch of things: baking a pie; dancing; curing the common cold; running the Iditarodits all in the book. And I realized I notice things that maybe some people dont notice (or they dont notice that they dont notice). Thats all in the book, too..… (more)

Ellen is so funny! She has a way with humor that we all love and admire. Who can't love Ellen? She cleverly goes from chapter to chapter having a point, and not, but we still love it all the same.

This is an amazingly fun and entertaining book. Never have I sat down and read a book that kept me laughing out loud with every page. I love Ellen Degeneres I would recommend this to everyone who wants a good clean laugh.

I didn't find this book very funny at all. I think Ellen Degeneres is so funny largely because of her delivery and just reading her words on a page just didn't cut it. I LOVE Ellen but I didn't love this book.

Left me rolling on the floor with laughter. The only flaw was that she had a hard time meeting the minimum word count to be considered a novel, so parts of the book are just "word fillers"... but at least she's honest about that!

I love Ellen. I think she's pretty funny, especially in some of her stand-up routines. And of course, as a person (or at least her public persona) she is awesome.

None of this translates in this book. Parts of the first section I actually recall from one of her routines, and it's way funnier to

watch and listen to her. In the book, there is a lot missing. Others have mentioned her facial expressions, how she talks, etc.

And the rest of the book was just a rambling mess. There were a few moments in which I laughed, but most of it was just, What am I reading? She kept mentioned her 60,000 word goal that she had to meet, so there were a bunch of areas where it literally said, "blah blah blah blah."

That's essentially how I felt about this book.

I checked this book out of the library in high school and later found it at a used book store. I loved this book, I re-read it several times. I should find it and read it again. My friend Jaimi and I would laugh and laugh at this book, and at the CD I owned, and still own. But as to where this book

went, I don't know.

Hysterical. It is written so that you can just hear the voice of Ellen talking and it is SO funny. Loved it!

I enjoy Ellen's humor - and she writes just like she talks. It isn't the same without her facial expressions and voice - but I still laughed outloud at several parts.

This is just a book with ramblings by Ellen. Some of it was funny, but, really, just ramblings.
