about the animals he passes on the road, unlike the big dump truck (Dump) who is in a rush, putting the animals in danger and caring only about himself. Eventually Dump gets stuck on the road and no animal will help, until Blue comes to offer a hand and gets stuck himself. The animals come to the rescue and get both Blue and Dump out of the mud. The story teaches the value of having friends, especially when one is in need . The illustrations are equally as good as the book, giving the trucks human like qualities and emotions to the animals. The pictures add to the story's overall message.

friendship. The singsong couplet-rhyming scheme on each leaf moves the action forward; though this might tempt the younger listener to turn the page before the reader is finished reciting the text. The traditional animal replies allow for the adult reader to generate a spirited call and response-type delivery popular in preschool story times. As the plot rolls along the drawings become a little too muddy and it is difficult to appreciate the detail of the carefully drawn and painted folk art-style watercolor illustrations. The progressing darkness of the illustrations does not detract from the tale, but the drawings are better represented in the picture book edition of this story. Nevertheless, a good-natured, “All for one and one for all!” is the motto that children will take away from this encouraging board book.

What a great way to talk about friendship and the importance of helping others. The illustrations are great in that the more natural (countryside) colors allow the blue truck to stand out. I also really like the mud splatter!

stuff to do and did not have all day to say hi to every little animal. Well the big dump truck got stuck in some mud and no one would help him because he was rude. The little blue truck came upon the big dump truck and tried to push him out but little blue got stuck as well and yelled for help and all the animals that he had said hi to came to help push him and the dump truck out. The dump truck realized that you could always use some friends to help you out every once in awhile.

In my opinion this is a good book because it tells people that you could always use some friends sometime. Such as when the dump truck got stuck in the mud and no one would help him out because he was in a rush and did not have time to say hi to anyone. But when the little blue truck got stuck all his friends came to help him get unstuck. Another reason this is a good book is the way the illustrator used color in the print of the sounds of each of the characters, such as when the Little Blue Truck beeps the word “beep” is in blue to match the characters color.

Little Blue Truck is a kind little truck who shows us that you don't need to be flashy to have true friends. His kind heart wins him the loyalty of all the country animals. It's a rhyming book and I think it has a wonderful cadence all the way through- never feels forced and it's almost lyrical.

I just happened to see this book in the children's section in the library where I work. I picked it up and read it. The story was about a truck who who got stuck in the mud while helping the dump truck get out with the help of Blue Truck's friends. Great illustrations and rhyming.

The Dump Truck learns an important lesson about how to treat people fro the Little Blue Truck. Cute but possibly a bit long for my youngest story time attendees.

One of my absolute favorite books in my son's collection! Pretty illustrations, great lesson within the story, fun to read and fun for my son to listen to. Reminds me of The Little Engine That Could.

A story about helping others, even if they're mean to your friends (and also maybe an intro to anthropomorphic cars). And like, your friends will help YOU so maybe they'll indirectly help you help the person who was a d*ck? anyway lots of fun onomatopoeia.
