Very cute book. I love the illustrations.

If you want dragons to come to your party all you have to do is serve tacos, any kind of tacos, just make sure they don't have any hot salsa. I thought this was a very cute and funny book. The illustrations were just as funny. However, I noticed the word 'hate' was in the book entirely too much. I
Show More
would read this to k-3 grade.

Dragons love tacos. They love chicken tacos, beef tacos, great big tacos, and teeny tiny tacos. So if you want to lure a bunch of dragons to your party, you should definitely serve tacos. Buckets and buckets of tacos. Unfortunately, where there are tacos, there is also salsa. And if a dragon
Show More
accidentally eats spicy salsa . . . oh, boy. You're in red-hot trouble.

The award-winning team behind Those Darn Squirrels! has created an unforgettable, laugh-until-salsa-comes-out-of-your-nose tale of new friends and the perfect snack.

I wouldn't say this is the best book in the world, but it is probably the best book on dragons loving tacos.

The illustrations are adorable. And the premise is cute -- dragons love tacos! And taco parties! We never actually find out WHY dragons love tacos, despite the question being asked. I guess
Show More
the awesomeness of tacos is so obvious that the question doesn't need an answer.

But, whatever you do, don't feed them spicy salsa! The spicy salsa thing is actually what makes me hesitant to say that this is a truly great children's picture book. Because, you see, dragons "hate" spicy salsa. It creates a cute lead-in to the ending, but I'm left wondering why we have to introduce the world "hate" into a child's vocabulary. Couldn't the writers have found a better way to explain it? Am I being too uptight? After all, it's not as if children memorize books and repeat things they learn from them.

Oh wait.

All in all, this was a completely adorable book with completely adorable illustrations. Great for dragon enthusiasts and taco lovers alike.

This book is perfect for students in 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade. Is about a story of Dragons telling why do them love Tacos, and what makes this book incredible is the images that the book contain.

Odd and goofy but quite enjoyable.

Dragons love tacos! One day a boy decides to throw a "Taco Party for Dragons" and all the dragons have been invited. However one little problem is that dragons cannot eat salsa because they get tummy ache.

These taco eating dragons whose love for tacos is not the best kept secret are sure to make any child smile, maybe even an adult too! :) After all, who can resist a yummy taco party? P.s. don't let the fire breathing lizards get ahold of the jalapeno sauce! Would be cool to make pretend tacos with

felt toppings for kitchen center!

Dragon love tacos but hate spicy food. When they eat something spicy they breathe fire. This is how he burnt down the house, but with the help of his friends they rebuild. This story is funny and teaches children about friendship and working together. I would read this if we were learning about

mythical creatures or other fantasy books.

The illustrations in this book are fun and colorful but when I read the story, I thought for sure it was written by a child - I love those books that have a child's voice with fun illustrations but for me, this one was just repetitious and really had no story line. I like most picture books, but
Show More
this is the first one in a while that made me want to close it before I finished.

This book is very funny. It explains to the reader what kids of tacos dragons like and how to throw a dragon taco party. The illustrations are great. This book would work well in a classroom setting because it would get a lot of laughs. This book gives dragons a good reputation, opposite to the one
Show More
where they hold princesses hostage. I liked this book because it was different from a lot of other picture books that are around.

I enjoyed reading this book because it was fun and engaging. The writing flowed well together and is well paced through the book bringing smiles to faces as the reader proceeds through. For example, “But wait! As much as dragons love tacos, they hate spicy salsa even more. They hate spicy green
Show More
salsa and spicy red salsa.” The plot of the story is also unique and exaggerated about having a party for dragons who love tacos. By having a story like this is great for a children’s book because of this unique, fictional subject matter. The big idea of this book is about having a party with dragons and tacos and what happens when you give them salsa. However, even though the dragons got angry about the salsa, they still cleaned up their mess sending a good message to kids reading the story. Even though you may mess up, it is still the right thing to do to clean up your mess.

I did like the book, and I think young ones will, too, BUT (you knew that was coming, didn't you) I felt there was a disconnect between eating the mild salsa with the spicey jalapeños, the destruction of the house, and the rebuilding of it. Is this another case of "lack of editor?" It seems to be
Show More
a prevalent problem.

Ah well, have a taco!

This is a silly picture book, that describes how important it is to follow directions and rules even while entertaining dragons. The theme of the story reflects how there is always a consequence if directions are not followed. Some consequences are negative, and some are positive, but in this case,
Show More
they are negative. Students will also be able to have a laugh with just the illustrations of dragons having taco parties. I think this book would be neat to introduce the classroom rules to students, and show how each rule is associated with expectations.

"Dragons Love Tacos" is a sweet little "how-to" book about how to throw a taco party for dragons. Not only is it well written, but the illustrations are funny and creative. Having a little brother who grew up loving everything dragons, this book struck a special place in my heart, though I think
Show More
this would be a nice way to show kids the fun side of this usually dangerous mythical creature. The setting is imaginative; the house of a little boy is the location for this crazy dragon party, though the house inevitably gets burned down because the boy makes the tacos too spicy, which makes the dragons spurt flames. At the end of the book, the dragons help rebuild the house, which teaches children about good friendship and repairing their mistakes (of course the dragons do need tacos as an incentive).

This was a really humorous book. I think that the illustrations and the plot are extremely engaging, especially for young readers. For example, the plot is about Dragons loving Tacos. This is a very silly, unrealistic topic, but it makes learning about different foods that much more fun. Also, the
Show More
illustrations are colorful, and whimsical. The characters are drawn very unrealistically, which goes along with the silly theme of the book. Overall this book’s purpose is to push readers to think of different types of food that might not be eaten in their own culture; specifically tacos.

I had mixed feelings about this book. On one hand, I thought it was a comical story that young children would enjoy it, but I also thought that it lacked an engaging plot. One reason I liked this book was because it specifically addressed readers through different questions and statements. For
Show More
example, the author states, “These dragons love your taco party!” and “Did you know that dragons love tacos?” It engages the reader because it makes them think that they are the main character in the book who is preparing this taco party. Young readers would definitely respond well to that aspect of the book. One reason I didn’t like the book was because of the lack of theme and plot. The book is about the reader throwing a taco party for dragons and discusses what you must do to make a taco that is not spicy. The dragons accidentally get jalapenos in their tacos, and it results in them breathing out fire and burning down the house, which is the end of the story. I wish that there would have been a more interesting plot or a better ending to the story, as I was surprised that it ended the way it did. The main idea of this book was to give the readers a silly, fictional story about dragons that love tacos, but hate spicy tacos.

This book is about how much dragons love tacos, but be careful because they do not love spicy salsa. In fact, when a dragon gets anything spicy bad things happen. If you host a taco party for dragons be ready for trouble. However, dragons are really helpful in fixing things if you give them taco

breaks.

These dragon's love taco's: all different kinds of tacos! But what happens when a dragon eats a taco with salsa, salsa with a jalapeno in it? Well my friend, that Dragon is going to breath fire.

Hijinks ensue when a little boy decides to make friends with dragons by feeding them their favorite food: tacos. When he fails to read the fine print, he ends up with more than he bargained for. Funny, good for predictions.

This was another book that I read because the title and cover caught my eye. Similar to other books I picked out in this manner, I was disappointed. It's sole purpose was to try and be funny, and the only message or moral that it gave was that "dragons love tacos." Although fun books have their
Show More
place, this one seemed poorly written. The sentences were all short and choppy and didn't seem to flow well. There was a lot of redundancy and repetition that didn't seem to serve a literary purpose. For example, one page read "The only thing dragons love more than parties or tacos, is taco parties (taco parties are parties with tacos.)"

Although the illustrations were well done and adequately described the plot of the story, there wasn't much of a plot of the story to begin with. Essentially, the book was about the fact that dragons loved tacos and parties, but hate spicy salsa. This is the only main idea I could muster from the story. I was disappointed in the writing of this book overall, and can only hope that others enjoyed it more than I did.

In case you’re not aware: dragons love tacos. They also are particularly fond of parties, and of course, taco parties are the best. What do dragons not like, however? Spicy salsa. While the dragons of the story are absolutely delighted to attend the taco party the young narrator is throwing for
Show More
them, the boy did not dispose of all the spicy salsa like he originally thought. Instead, the dragons wolf down the tacos topped with the offending salsa, and from then on, the party turns a bit upside down.

The entertaining story of what happens when dragons consume spicy salsa will likely draw a few giggles even from the most reluctant readers, as well as charm the most voracious reader. The bright, bold colors of the watercolor/color pencil illustrations perfectly complement the playful and lively tone, and the depictions of the dragons wearing pirate hats and bikinis (they like costume and pool parties, too), and being just plain theatrical (did you know dragons are just a tad dramatic?) just add to the enjoyment.

Although the narrative may be a bit long for young readers, they’ll still be amused looking at the humorous pictures, which give an excellent opportunity for counting and color recognition (how many green dragons are there?; how many dragons are wearing clothes?). However, it’s the text that makes this book laugh-out-loud, and for persistent readers, reading about what happens to a dragon in salsa trouble will be extremely rewarding. Highly recommended. Grades pre-K to 1.

Summary: Dragon's favorite food is a taco and they love everything about tacos besides spicy salsa. If a dragon eats any spicy salsa, they will immediately breathe fire. It is important to get on the dragons good side, by making them tacos but keeping the toppings to mild toppings. To invite a
Show More
dragon to a taco party, make sure you have tons of tacos because since the dragons love them so much, they eat so many! Make sure theres no spicy salsa at the taco party.

Argument: I thought this book was a really cute story with humor about tacos. There isn't really a main message that I took out of this book, I think it is just meant to be entertaining for children. I think kids would really like the part where the dragons end up eating the spicy salsa and breathing fire. One of my favorite things about this book was the illustrations. The writing was also really strong but the pictures really added to the text. A few pages also didn't have words, just illustrations of what the dragons ended up doing.
