This, the Harmony Guides, is a canonical series of stitches and patterns for knitting. It, like the Barbara Walker Treasury series, are essential to knitters who want to move beyond knitting other people's patterns.

The Harmony volumes are British publications, and as such, use some terminology not familiar to US knitters. All terms, however, are define and illustrated. This 1988 Collins & Brown imprint is the same text as the 1987 "Harmony Guide to Knitting Stitches, Volume 2" published by Lyric Books.
