These designs are mostly not really my style (see the author's blog for examples), and use a chunkier yarn that I am not interested in buying more of, but I did find the techniques to be pretty helpful, especially the combo intarsia/embroidery

examples (I've always wondered how to stitch on top of my knit designs so it doesn't look too obvious)-- so if I don't necessarily want a deer hat, I can still make a nice pikachu hat (or hood) with knitted ears. Several of these designs also incorporate a felted element, so if you are into soft, wooly, shaped bits fluttering all over your person, you might find some inspiration here. Show Less
