Description

A knitting Hat book with a difference! 24 contemporary designs using the sideways construction method. Knitted on straight needles using short rows for shaping and provisional cast-on & kitchener stitch for a professional, seam free finish. Each Hat pattern is available in 3 sizes, S (18/19"), M (20/21") and L (22/23"). All patterns are provided in both written and charted format.Full colour, detailed tutorials are included, of which 8 are for kitchener stitch - these are the most comprehensive tutorials on kitchener stitch available in print. This book is aimed at intermediate level knitters and a reasonable level of knitting skill is required. In these patterns, row gauge rather than stitch gauge is the important factor.

24 knitted hats, including beanies, rastas, chullos and berets, with instructions written in row by row format, as well as charts. What's different about these hats, is they are knitted sideways, instead of from the bottom or top. The final join is done with kitchener grafting. The hats are lovely,

and range from very easy to quite challenging. If the book had no patterns at all, the tutorials for cast-ons and grafting would still make the price of this book well worth paying. That said, the hats are lovely, with styles to fit many personalities and ages, as well as seasons and reasons for wearing a hat.
